Digital dentistry makes dental treatment processes faster, more precise, and more effective compared to traditional methods with the help of modern technologies. Digital dentistry minimizes the use of traditional impression trays and materials, aiming to enhance patient comfort during the treatment process and prevent human errors. With this method, numerous dental procedures can be performed, including small fillings, intra-crown restorations (inlays, onlays), overlays and veneers, all types of prosthetic restorations, orthodontic treatments, and implant treatments. The most important component of the system for the dental clinic is intraoral scanners. In our clinic, we use the latest model of the 3 Shape brand, which has proven its reliability, known as TRIOS5, from CAD/CAM (Computer-aided Design/Computer-aided Manufacturing) systems. With this technology, patients' treatments can be completed in just one day.
How Does the Process in Digital Dentistry Progress?
The process in digital dentistry is carried out in several stages:
Assessment and Planning: Our dentists evaluate your oral and jaw structure to determine the most suitable type of restoration needed.
Preparation and Measurement: After necessary preparations in the mouth are completed, measurements are taken with intraoral scanners and converted into digital models.
Design: Various computer programs are used to design the most appropriate restoration for the patient based on the obtained digital jaw models.
Production: Restorations are produced with computer-aided devices according to the prepared design.
Try-in and Adjustment: The prepared restorations are tried in and adjusted as needed.
Placement: The adjusted prostheses are placed into the mouth as either fixed or removable.
